Woke with horrible blinding headache. Took Excedrin, which banished it.

worked 24hrs straight, system very slow. 4hrs to read drives…what’s wrong

there was a little blip in my calendar called “yarn store and games and things”. that turned out to be the majority of my day. kim and paul and i got to ogle the auto-powered suburbs (well, i guess they see them regularly), i told kipling stories, kim bought games, i got sock needles and we all bought yarn (well, chad did and jes just looked bored). played thurn & taxis (i’d play it again), then ate at amazingly crowded lorenzo’s. on the way home, seamus and i innocently stopped by pix and ended up eating an insane gâteau while smiling to shicky and drinking espresso.

we folded laundry together. (awww!) a lot of laundry. we were so exhausted by that effort, we very nearly did not go to the rock show.

very loud cello at valentine’s: polly panic. through the windows behind the musicians, we watched a drunk guy doing cane tricks on the sidewalk outside. the woman on guitar kept playing and walked outside to invite him in.
and then, well, we were downtown. so voodoo.

and a nice taxi driver lady. we talked about luck, and superstition, and how routine beomes psychologically useful in a job that’s all about never being the same. insecurity. and dog poop on the sidewalk.
