Last day of the honeymoon. We had such a great week. It was just what I needed to calm down, get back to normal sleeping and eating habits (but not drinking habits, oops) and calm my mind and body down. I am stress free right now and it feels fine.

We drove around the entire island today. We made stops along the way and had a great time. The best was had at Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, a place we’ve been planning to visit for years. We walked around the crater. We hiked on lava and saw the flow enter the ocean. We also drove through pouring rain to get back to the hotel. That last part wasn’t so fun.

I love Kona coffee. I hope i don’t have a problem cutting it out once I get home. Today we went to the Summit of Mauna Kea. There’s something fabulous about standing on the ground at 13,760 feet in the air. Add a beautiful sunset & some stargazing through telescopes and it’s almost a perfect night. Plus, it’s fun to wear a heavy parka and mittens in Hawai’i. Just because.

Today was about: running, eating, drinking, sitting by the pool, sitting by the pool & drinking, swimming, eating, swimming. napping. sunning.. drinking & eating and doing it all some more. All with no sunburn! Is there anything more perfect?

We went snorkeling in kealakekua bay. dolphins & colorful fish. turtles. octopus & more. Then we sat by the pool. napped. ate and drank and played scrabble in the Polo Lounge. I bingoed on my second turn with harpists, which more than made up for my opening word (“poo”).

Today is about sleep and catching up on it. I went to bed at 3pm yesterday and woke up today. and then I sat around by the pool and came back to the room to take a nap until dinner. i am the winner at sleep.

we’re in hawai’i. we’re on our honeymoon. FINALLY! i have 7 days of whateverthehelliwanttodo ahead of me. i’m in love with honeymooning.

we started with brunch for our out of town guests and then took naps.. packed for hawaii and then had some friends over to our suite at the Hyatt for some pizza and leftover wedding wine.

Wedding day!!! I fought off a cold for a week. My stomach was squirrely all morning and I didn’t get much sleep, but once the pictures started and I saw Josh it quickly turned into one of the best days of my life! Thank you family, friends, music and especially champagne and chocolate martinis!

the 5 for morale is an average for the day. It started the day incredibly low with no sleep, still no dad and no assurance that he’d come and also with this terrible sore throat and congested head on top of the upset stomach.

but it ended with a wedding rehearsal. a fabulous dinner with friends and family. several glasses of good wine. and seeing my dad at the hotel after he arrived.

It’s all falling into place like it should.

I’m so sick. My dad called me at 4:30 in the morning (after I’d gotten into bed—and didn’t sleep much—at midnight) to tell me that Alaska Air had fucked up his oxygen arrangement and wouldn’t let him on the plane. he was so distraught I could hear his voice cracking. I’m so crushed for him (and for me, i won’t lie) that i’m sick to my stomach on top of this stupid cold I’m fighting off. I don’t know if he’ll be here for our wedding.

this sucks.

Last day of work! Too many errands to run, but oneof them is picking mom up at the airport!! i’m happy! My family is arriving!!
